Practice Ice

OFFICIAL PRACTICE

Official practice sessions could begin on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009 at the discretion of the Chief Referee. For Junior and Senior Dance, the compulsory and original dance sessions will be combined  into a single session. All official practice sessions will be 30 minutes except the following:

  • Novice and Junior Ladies FS, Novice Men FS – 35 min

  • Senior Pairs FS and Junior and Senior Free Dance – 35 min

  • Senior Ladies FS, Junior and Senior Men FS, Junior and Senior CD/OD – 40 min

Music will be played at all official practice sessions. Official practice ice will only be sold as a complete package, consisting of one official practice and one official warm-up for each competition segment. Prices are as follows:

  • Juv. & Int. Pairs (1 practice, 1 warm-up), $70 (per team)

  • Singles (2 practices, 2 warm-ups), $90

  • Nov., Jr., Sr. Pairs and Juv., Int., Nov. Dance (2 practices, 2 WUs), $140 (per team)

  • Junior & Senior Dance (2 practices, 3 warm-ups), $170 (per team)

UNOFFICIAL PRACTICE (Starting Nov 15)

Unofficial practice ice will also be offered. The days and times will be determined as the competition schedule is finalized. Skaters may request unofficial practice ice on the Practice Ice Form included in the Announcement, or by signing up at the registration desk at the rink starting on Sunday, Nov. 15. No unofficial practice ice reservations will be accepted without payment. The fee for each 25 minute unofficial practice is $25 per skater. Music will not be played on unofficial practice.

EARLY BIRD PRACTICE ICE (November 9-14)

The Jackson Hole Figure Skating Club has set aside morning ice the week before Sectionals for any skaters wishing to get adjusted to our High Altitude.  Early Bird Ice Sessions will start at 8am and run until Noon everyday, November 9th through the 14th.  The Early Bird Ice sessions are $20 each.  However, there is a discount for the Early Bird Ice Sessions if you are staying at at Snow King Resort, our Host Hotel.  If you are staying at Snow King Resort, the rate is $12/session.

There are no changes or refunds on Early Bird Practice Ice Sessions.  Practice ice money is non-refundable, and you may not assign your practice ice to another skater.  Depending on the number of skaters on each practice ice session, there is no guarantee each skater's music will be able to be played.  You may play your own music, but we ask that you allow other skater’s an opportunity to play their music and practice.

To register for Early Bird Practice Ice Sessions, download, complete and mail in the Early Bird Practice Ice Request Form with full payment to Gary Merrell at the address on the form.

PINEDALE, WYOMING PRACTICE ICE (November 18-20)

The Jackson Hole Figure Skating Club has arranged for Practice Ice at the Pinedale Ice Arena in Pinedale, Wyoming on November 18th, 19th, and 20th for skaters wishing additional ice time during the 2010 PCS Championships.  Ice sessions are 45 minutes long and music can be played on a local boom box.  The cost per session is $15. 

Pinedale, Wyoming is located 78 miles to the Southeast of Jackson Hole.  It is approximately a 1 hour and 30 minute drive.  We will provide you with a map to the Pinedale Ice Arena at the Registration Desk in Jackson Hole, starting on November 15th.  We also hope to have shuttle service for those skaters without a car.  This information will be added in the future.
